Like the installation Unstable Mountain, this is about the undermining of rock-solid certainties in our modern existence. What could be more certain than standing on a mountain and having solid ground under your feet? The threatening and at simultaneously exciting challenge of a mountain is its height. For many, the road to the top is a personal journey of discovery, full of hardships and with a cathartic effect. If the rock-solid certainty of an eternally anchored rock formation turns out to be unstable, certainties and basic principles are called into question. Does gravity still apply? Does it still work, as we have been able to experience life in our existence so far? Life as we know it has been undermined. If the COVID-19 pandemic has made us realize anything in recent years, it is that the self-evidence of the previous life is over. It's like sitting on a mountain, but the mountain is floating in the air….
