Textiles made in Textile Museum Tilburg at Weaving, Knitting, Embroidery, Tufting, Laser Cutting and Braiding. Ceramics (Foam Porcelain) made at European Ceramic Work Centre, 2019.
Primal Nature was inspired by 2 residencies: the Poimena Art Residency at Launceston, Tasmania in 2006 and the Big Ci residency at Bilpin in Wollemi National Park in Australia.
The work was special made for the solo exhibition Oer Natuur/ Primal Nature in Museum Rijswijk, 2019-20. Curator: Anne Kloosterboer. Special thanks to the Mondriaan Fonds and Stichting Stokroos. The exhibition was opened by the Australian artist and curator Katy Woodroffe. Special visitors the Australian Ambassador Matthew Neuhaus, his wife and John Woodroffe. During the exhibition lectures were given by the BigCi staff, the artist Rae Bolotin and writer and explorer Yuri Bolotin.
